Subject: Did you find Lois yet?

G'day Naomi & Sarah:

G'day from all of us at "Rose Manor". Still fairly hot for autumn - 30C. We've had computer problems since the l7th but all (fingers x'd is ok now)....

I gave your Mum the wrong email address for Lois - it should be Dave.Lois.Wong@clear.net.nz I hope you got your Mum's message before you headed off around the country! Further to the info she fwd you....Lois' middle daughters - Debbie is the one in lst yr uni in Wellington so she'd be around l7...Karen would be l5 or l6 I think so in about grade ll....The eldest Kiri leaves for France end of month per Lois' last email....like I passed on to your Mum.

Sure hope you hooked up with them or will on your return to Auckland.....

Naomi I hope that your sore throat is better - see a doctor says Drs. Chubba and Bundy here.....if you were here they'd make you their 'famous chicken noodle soup'.

If you get to Christchurch on your trip give Bridget Blunden-Preston a call....her husband is Richard and one son is Mark & other one is Andrew. Bridget was also on the outback camping trip with your Mum and I. We lost touch but here is the last info I have on them: Bridget & Richard Preston (but she goes by Blunden-Preston) , 63 Westgrove Ave., Christchurch 4...Bridget would be of your Mum and my "vintage" (maybe a wee bit younger tho') and Richard is older. He is an accountant & she was a teacher (but I don't know what work if any she's doing now). We stopped writing maybe 8 yrs ago I think - but not sure. Explain who you are & I'm sure she'll give you a hand at what to see there,etc....maybe even a homecooked meal....she was a great cook. Ask her about Lou (she is Bridget's friend who also was on the outback trip) - she's married but don't think they had any kids. Tell her I still keep in close touch with Lois - you can give her my email address,etc.....
Good luck.

While in Christchurch our old employer Cokers Hotel - in "downtown Christchurch" should still be there per Kiwis I know here......We were "expert waitresses" for them - even if it was brief (tell you the whole story when you get here)....

Then if you go south of Christchurch I know people in Oamaru - a small coastal farm town (or it was when we were there). The family was the Ewings - sons Ross, Lindsay, and Graham. Their parents owned big sheep property on Kauru Hill....we stayed with them...and tried sheering sheep,etc...then went around South Island for the weekend with Graham,Lindsay, and another mate of theirs. They had a younger sister who was Heather - she'd be about 46 now and the brothers would be about 54, 52, and 48 I think. Lost touch a long time ago.....but I am sure they'd remember us!!!! It was Lindsay who we traveled with from Cairns to Sydney in his orange TransAm!!!! If you can't find them drop in to the police station and relay the story - I'm sure someone would know if they are still around.....smile smile.

I have other friends in NZ but best stop now......

Hope you read this soon and reply directly to me.

WHEN DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE FLYING INTO BRISBANE??????
Busy collecting more travel info for you and B & C are
planning your trips to all "their fav spots"......woof woof.

Take care and koala hugs all around,

Lynne,John,Bundy, and Chubba
