Anyway, kudos to ya for trying the ivy boots quest - that's the hardest one of the ivys cause of the Ronium.

Paladins need Ronium for each piece of Ro armor so I can relate. I finally made my Ro helm a few days ago. 8) The following condensed info is from a Paladins of Norrath guide to Ro armor:

Melatite can be looted from Clockworks in Sol A. The models that drop melitate have a model number that ends in C or B. Some known models to drop melitate are MC, XB, XC and CC. Melitate is a some what rare drop but if you camp where the EXG model spawns (near the castle where Gabbie spawns), your chances of getting melitate are good. Killing Clockworks does ruin your faction with the Gnomes in Akanon but killing Kobolds in Sol B fixes this but not for the merchants of Akanon. I have been told that turning in Gearhearts box (from the Fairy Village) to Bartox in Akanon will improve your faction with the merchants of Akanon.

It's Murtle now - if you want to keep gnome faction, I'd suggest buying the Melatite. I'd assume that the merchants in Sol A might have some sold by players hunting the clockworks or you could /auction for it. I was lucky enough to be in EC when someone was selling it so I didn't have to make a trip to Sol A. I bought mine for 36pp but I had no idea what the going rate for it was.

I'm not sure about this - from what I've read on several EQ sites, melatite is only dropped in Sol A. High quality ore drops off the gobs in perma - looks like melatite though.

I've done ALOT of camping in Perma and have never seen melatite drop there. Give me a /tell when you're ready to take on Sol. Maybe Val and I can help. We've made some successful excursions deep into Sol A on more than one occasion with just the two of us. -- badjur, 11:36:40 03/20/01 Tue
