Hi Brumby, I don't have any emotional attachment to ERG whatsoever, out of tech stocks though, I guess it is the one other than Davnet that became DVT Holdings then later UXC I'm most familiar with. I definitely don't have any attachement to it whatsoever.
My original involvement with smartcards comes through Catuity Common and it all started from there, the one I truly like the most is Intellect--but then in this bear market over the last three years it depends on when you buy Intellect. (lol)
My intuitive feeling on IHG is it will return to a dollar one day--on ERG I have realistic expectations based on factual groundwork, I would describe myself more as a speculator than as a gambler all though to many the terms are the same.
No I would beg to differ ERG has risen several times within it's range trade at time lightening quick--from first post made at 10c--I stated my holding was strategic waiting for certain things to happen--in that time the share price has risen to 18c (and within that several rises in between) and then fallen again to as low as 11c--which still represents a 10% return--the trend has never been straight out buy unless a positive announcement hits it has however been accumalative.
I spent I think from memory a long time trading between 10 and 11c--it has millions traded at that level--I'll be a total loser to go below that--the reason I say 8.9c is (and that is half of the near term high of 18) that is the lowest figure I've seen flash out in the shorts in around 5 months of monitoring daily the highest figure is 26 which came out when Sydney was announced--on the 28/3/03 when ERG was trading higher than present levels 11c came out--it has rejected this area a number of times--and along with others I sensed accumulation on Fraiday at 11.5--on fundamentals with a proper time perspective a bargain basement buy in my view and I've been doing smartcards since 1999.
I couldn't give a brass razoo about portfolio's--not my department on that regard when Wall Street tanks it and many blue chips get walloped some of them are good for a portfolio--my favorite is CBA which I first bought at 7.78--the low was 7.78--I din't have a net connection or access to market depth did not know what a chart was and just did it out of the paper--yet I was only 2c out. Must be a fluke I guess--I remember one day seeing CBA go to 10.50--and thinking I wouldn't pay that much (for I had bought them earlier) but the person that bought at 10.50 even today is laughing I sold out at 18--then decided to do techs with Harry Hindsight the worst thing I ever did--it wasn't at the time for I made heaps, so I don't have any regrets. I don't give advice--only a view. WW doesn't need psycho analysing--ERG does.It has a 233 page document to be thouroughly read and understood.
