MTC seeks advisory committee members
David Goll East Bay Business Times

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission has extended the deadline for applicants to serve on three of its advisory committees until March 19.

Members are being sought to serve on the MTC's Advisory Council, its Disabled Advisory Committee and its Minority Citizens Advisory Committee. The Oakland-based MTC oversees transportation planning, financing and coordination for the nine-county Bay Area. Members of these and other committees serve as advisors to the organization's staff and its governing board of commissioners.

"One of the most important things that we want to do as a Commission is create a policy and vision for our future that is inclusive of all our Bay Area residents and transportation interests," said Steve Kinsey, MTC chairman. "The members of our advisory committees provide a link to the public that is crucial to our work."

For more information, call 510-464-7787 or visit the MTC's Web site at http://www.mtc.ca.gov. The organization's headquarters is at 101 Eighth St. in downtown Oakland.
