Subject: The Cuckfield, Wanstead

The Cuckfield, 31 High Street Wanstead, E11 2AA (Tel: 020 8532 2431) is a pub I have known for many years. At one time they did one of the best pints of Bass East of the City. Lately however it became a bit of a Yates Wine lodge clone and I avoided it.

Much to my surprise, when I passed it recently it had a Belle Vue Kriek awning. Not expecting much I went in and discovered (this needs checking as this was a week ago and my memory may be at fault) Leffe Blond and another abbey beer (Grimbergen?) on draught, Hoegaarden, Fruhli, BV Kriek and Fruhli strawberry with Paulaner hell, Franziskaner and Sneider Weiss beers also on draught. All 3 Chimay's Orval? and Duvel in bottle. I have a vage memory of other beers Korenwolf?. I'll go back and make a proper inventory shortly
