I just heard on the news that Paris Hilton is in talks to host the Miss USA Pageant. I don't know if this bothers anybody else, but it disgusts me. So much in fact, that I have already sent an e-mail to Paula Shugart to voice my disgust. The Miss USA Pageant is about strong women in the 21st Century. Susie Castillo is a great example of this. She has done an amazing job as Miss USA, but a lot of that will be overlooked if Ms. Hilton hosts the pageant. Ms. Hilton's only claim to fame is that she comes from a very rich and famous family, she starred in a television show in which she showed that she had no work ethic or value of a dollar and, of course, the infamous sex tape. Ms. Hilton is the antithesis of what the Miss USA delegates represent themselves. All of these women have worked hard to get where they are and to have Ms. Hilton host the pageant would be disrespectful to them.

NBC currently has some wonderful women starring in some of their shows, I am sure any one of them would be a better choice as hostess. Let's make sure that the Miss USA delegates get the respect they deserve.
