You do ask excellent questions.

She still had Paul at that point, and together they were an incredibly strong team. Yes, there was a review taking place, yes 'Mr. Jones' knew everything that had happened at Section through his mole Niktia. But, Paul and Madeline had always had their own power bases - both together and seperately. To think that Madeline's only solution was suicide just never seemed plausible to me at all.

I would have expected Madeline, and quite possibly Paul, to have their own contacts at Center and to have some type of contingency already in place for just such a situation. Possibly an ally at Center that would have warned them that an administrative review was being planned. Madeline was the queen of contingencies, she always had a plan within a plan within a plan. I would have expected her to have some other plan of action.

Just some more of my rambling thoughts.
