I like to ponder the "why" behind the "because;" but I'd rather have something *there* to backfill. I suppose all bets are off when writing post-series fic; yet if something strays too far from what canon gave us, what woulda shoulda coulda, it turns me off. I've seen a few post-S5 fics with a Sectionized manipulative Nikita, and that's just wrong to me.

As to your sidebar, I like to read canon fic but write AU. Not as many nit-pickers who saw the scene differently than I did to contend with. ;)
