Occasional Roundup - How fic changes over time (r)

So, not weekly. Or on a Wednesday. *g*

However - not yet abandoned as a project. (And we will have another story-chat one of these days too, I swear!)

There have been many interesting posts on metafandom, as always, but nothing that seemed especially pertainent to LFN fic-fandom -- until today.

fabu has a very interesting post on fandom cycles on fandom cycles, and in particular, how fic changes as fandoms mature.

This is something I know we've talked about here before, but it seems like it might be fun to tackle it again.

How do you see LFN fandom (fic in particular) having evolved over time? Do the patterns fabu describes seem to fit, or not quite? Sort of? Not at all?
