Challenge: Preparing A Meal

Madeline stared at the ingredients she had assembled on Christopher's recommendation. Yes, she had everything, she decided as she eyed each thing, checking it off on her list.

She consulted the email he had sent her. The directions looked so complicated. Why was it that she could work with the most intricate mission scenarios, but couldn't put together a recipe, even with the most specific instructions?

She picked up her cell phone and flipped through the directory. Christopher's number rang, but there was no answer. She decided not to leave a message. She was out of time.

Checking her directory one more time, she made a quick decision. Why not? A little diversion was just what she needed. She dialed the number.

"Madeline! To what do I owe the honor of this call?"

"I need some help preparing a special supper, and, well, you're the best gourmet chef I know..."

"Ah. Can't get hold of Christopher, eh?"

"You guessed it. Thanks. Oh, Mick?"

"Yes, luv?"

"Time is of the essence."

"You hang in there, luv. I'll just be on my way."
