I can agree with warren that Elena probably thought of her marriage to Michael as 'real', if she thought about it at all. I don't think most married couples go around thinking, "Hey, is this thing real or not? Could my spouse have another wife/husband somewhere?"

I can agree that Section could have arranged a huge insurance payout to Elena if Michael had died on a mission. But, knowing how twisted Section is, I can just as easily believe that they would leave her destitute and homeless so they could send in a Knight In Shining Armor, aka another operative, to complete the mission.

As for Simone...I agree with you delle. We never, ever found out in the show what Simone thought of Michael. In the ep Simone, it seemed that she was happy to see him, but she might have been just as happy to see ANYBODY that could save her. Ha, ha! Maybe Simone's marriage to Michael was a mission!

Madeline said that Michael loved once, very deeply. So I do think Michael loved Simone. But you've made some good points on how he was much younger then and thus his love for Nikita would be different. Nice points. I shall ponder this. =P
