I think a challenge, or just a kind of "open mike" would be a great way to honor someone who was such a generous and supportive part of the community. Since I don't really think of myself as a DOM (or a DON for that matter) I would vote for keeping the parameters pretty open, so that as many people as possible can participate -- that would be, I think, the best kind of tribute to Jaron.
