I loathe this series. No joke. For those of you not on Michael's Retreat or Roy's Official Fan Club, 'loathe' actually isn't a strong enough word to describe how much I despise this freakin' ripoff of an amazing series. They fucking appropriated Michael and Nikita, Birkoff, and Operations. Maggie Q's Nikita is anorexic, and I'm sorry no matter that Maggie Q herself is an amazing martial artist, her Nikita isn't convincing enough. She looks like a stiff wind would knock her over. Birkoff....they took a beloved character and turned him into....that. *shakes head* Operations, excuse me, Percy...(btw, wtf kind of NAME is that? every time I hear it it makes me laugh, not cringe in fear!) is not scary at all. He's always got a scowl on his face, and he's nowhere near as calculating as Operations was. Where's Madeline? Oh, yeah, instead her name is Amanda from the original movie. That's the only bit of solid casting I think those morons did.

Michael....wow, they completely fucked that up. Shane West...loved him in that Nicholas Sparks movie, but here, as MICHAEL? Nikita's gorgeous, brooding, enigmatic, mysterious trainer? Nooooooo. He doesn't do mysterious at all. His perpetual scowl just makes him look like he'll be getting lines in his face a lot sooner than Roy ever did.

Section One was a sixth character all by itself and this new 'Division' feels like a third inferior cousin. At first I was intrigued by the split between Nikita and Alex, and having her mole in Division. Interesting idea....until Alex's entrance into Division. That pissed me off. Because it was straight out of LFN, both the movie and the series and all I could see in my mind was Nikita and Michael (from LFN 97).

Nikita is not interesting in any way shape or form. They jumped into the middle of the story and not from the beginning, which unfortunately for them (fortunately for us) would have grabbed a lot more viewers. I can't sympathize or empathize with her at all. Alex - I liked. Cautiously. Until she started doing her little thing with the Division computers IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAIN SIGHT of Opera-excuse me, Percy. wtf is that?

Michael.....Roy owned that character. Shane West just reminds me of a little boy trying to walk in his daddy's shoes. And in this case, West will NEVER grow into them. He doesn't have the acting ability, much less the range.

I've heard that Alberta and the guy who played Kessler had a little reunion in the Season 1 finale. Maybe I'll watch it to see, but I'm not tuning in after that. Don't care what the hell they bring out to rope people in. Q and West's 'Mikita' (btw, where the hell did they get THAT? we NEVER called M&N such a cutsy name) are cardboard cutouts of Michael and Nikita and their 'relationship' lacks the spark and fire and chemistry that Roy and Peta brought to the roles. THAT was magic. The shit they're peddling on the screen right now is a pale imitation, watered down version of a couple that just can't be mimicked or replicated.

Oh, yeah, where the HELL is WALTER? Idiots. He was the heart of Section. Oh, well. Better that they DON'T butcher him too.

I think my main problem with this bullshit reboot is the fact that they took such beloved characters like Michael, Nikita, and Birkoff and completely fucking butchered them. If they had just kept it Section One, and started with FRESH NEW characters, NOT Michael, Nikita, and Birkoff, then I would have gladly watched. Owen - I love his character! Alex - like her too. The Cleaner guy is damned interesting and Amanda is as well. Maybe even like Nikita's and Michael's kid in Section, you know, next generation and all that, but nooooooooo. They had to fuck with perfection.

Here's to hoping that bullshit show dies a quick and painful death.

ps. Oh, and another reason why I'm pissed off at that crap show? THEY got a freakin' bluray release!!!!! Bastards. They should rerelease LFN and retouch the video especially. I wince when the grain is visible in certain shots on certain DVDs because of the compression ratio. Needless to say, I will not be watching any more and give that crap better ratings.
