I'm glad you enjoyed the discussion - it is a rare pleasure to discuss LFN fic openly like this, where everyone who wants can join in.
It is interesting to look back at earlier efforts for a lot of reasons - but the 'lightness' of the fic is fun, especially b/c the show got so much darker as Section was more steadily revealed for the black hole that it is.
The role of LFN fandom as a 'gateway' fandom is an interesting one - because it really does seem to hold up. Not so much that people haven't branched out since, especially since lj hit the fannish scene, but rather that it was the first for so very, very many of the fans - and many have been quite content to stay here, or simply wander away from fandom as they lost their LFN lurve.
There are some exceptions of course - Taraljc for one, or Claire Gabriel, for example, who came to LFN with long(ish) fannish pasts....but not many, at least that I know about.
