I've seen many stories that revived or rescued Simone, but in most of them she's either turned or died.

Which isn't to say that those aren't interested choices, and some of the work I've seen has been quite successful, but there seems to be a disinclination to keep Simone around long enough to be a viable third party in the M/N partnership.

We know very little canon about the character, but most of the fanon paints her as a highly capable and controlled operative (there's some racial stereotyping involved in the description of her self-control, but I think it's possible to write a character with that quality that doesn't lean on cliche, so it's a viable possibility) And at this point in canon, capable and controlled are not necessarily the first adjectives that come to mind when you think of N -- what might Simone have been like as a mentor or as an example for a first season N?
