Subject: this has potential on several levels

I can very readily see Madeline wielding her influence to make sure that Section One got extra budget allocations and other privileges denied to the other Sections, kind of the way a Congressmember might fight for pork barrel legislation for her district. LOL. She would probably also be a very useful source of leaks and other information to Michael if she thought it would be helpful. And all sorts of other things.

I think their relationship might be much more complex, especially since Madeline would also be navigating the environment in her new position (Oversight, Center, whatever), which I'm sure would be just as twisty as anything in Section. Michael would have to continue to question almost everything she does, while hoping to use whatever influence he had with her to turn things his way. I do think that Madeline would always feel that she was working for the good of the organization -- as other people have mentioned her personal agenda seems to be lined up with the whole Section/Oversight/Center institution -- but how those parts play with each other would be an ongoing element in her decision-making.

I'm sorry indeed that we never saw this developed.
