Ah yes - it is a crossover with Lois & Clark (did you ever catch any of this early Teri Hatcher/Dean Cain watch the pretty show?). But all you really need to know is the one episode featuring hokey, comic book like time travel.

Tempus is a bad guy from a utopian future who has figured out how to use a time travel machine to go back into the past to steel things. (or something like that...) Anyway - the utopian future was secured by Superman, along with his life partner Lois and their wonderful super-offsrping. So, in this future the Superman story was central knowledge/history/mythology. Tempus is a malcontent misanthrope who despises the happy, happy place created by Superman and Lois, and lusts after the late 20th century and all it's greed, crime and cruetly.

So Tempus arrives in the past - Lois and Clark's present - to gleefully do bad things. Eventually, of course, he was caught and dragged back to the future. However, along the way Tempus revealed this incredibly funny, snarky, snide character and in several scenes with Lois - who had not yet, canonically, discovered that Clark was superman, or acknowledged her feelings for him - Tempus asks Lois all the questions Alyssandra had him shooting at Elena. Lane Davies' delievery of 'you must be galactically stupid' can still make me giggle. Eventually of course everything was all patched up and Lois got some sort of forget-me-ray, a la Men in Black, so that the canon plot hole was all sealed up.

The Lois/Tempus scenes were really funny, in a show that often was very funny (intentionally) - and I can see exactly how and why Alyssandra subsittuted Michael and Elena for Clark and Lois - because the whole, one person can't be in two places at once thing, was/is always the major stumbling block for actually working out how Michael pulled off his undercover marriage while working full time at Section, not to mention angsting after Nikita. Tempus was/is a great vehicle for acknowledging canon problems and mocking them.
