Well, here goes:
I'm conflicted on the 'nasty' because one person's nasty is another person's *hot*.
I don't mind violence, but not with strong sexual overtones. And by nasty, I mean rough, gratuitous or just plain mean-spirited sex. "Hot" I can deal with but the humiliating stuff, I can do without. I remember several years ago, someone posted something just filthy and many readers just roundly shouted it down. I'm no prude, but I don't like scenes written just for shock value.
Just curious here, when you say emotional content, do you mean *positive* emotions of some kind, or "I HATE YOU" emotions? LOL
Positive or negative...doesn't matter to me. I enjoy emotional content that rings true for the characters and situation at hand. Like I said, I'm in it for the well-written or well-told story.
Ah, but would you read Michael-with-someone-else stories? *eg*
Ahhhh....I have read many of those Michael-with-someone-else stories and have enjoyed some of them. I do like the Michael and Nikita together stories because I like them together, but some of those other heroines could give Nikita a run for her money...and for Michael. (I know, what blasphemy!) But, in my fanfic universe, Michael and Nikita belong together...always. LOL!
