More appropriate for Geo to respond - but ....

A week in Hayward for the family during Geo's BD. Got back last Friday (12th). 2 BR cabin on Lake Girdlestone (?Girdlestone Lake?) Geo landed an 18 1/2 inch small mouth, and a 16 inch walleye (catch and release size) but otherwise not much biting.

Fresh water fishing hall of fame....
Lumberjack show with ESPN pro Geno..... (seriously impressive with the axe)
Candy store of a 7 year old's dreams - not to mention mom with the fudge sweet tooth
Scandinavian bakery with rosettes and date cookies like no one's business (need to have a little Norwegian in you to get this one I guess - Mo?)
Cabin bordering the Ojibwa reservation - great biking in pristine woods
No mosquitos
Bat show a dusk
S'mores around campfire
Sandy/stone beach
Cousin along (Sam Medo) to entertain Tom and Dan
One day of rain
Dog allowed (enjoyed the time with the mutt)
Waterfront bar and restraunt (best fish fry and rueben I've ever had)
Famous Dave's restraunt (bourbon old fashioneds and BBQ)
Ambercrappie and Fish shirts (didn't buy any though)

Computer stayed at home; kept the cell phone off; no work related stuff allowed on the trip -- got books read, knitting done, Cranium played with the boys, puzzle of the Empire State Building completed --

Came back relaxed. Loved every minute. Could have played for another week -
