Dear Honorable Congresswoman,

I am writing you to inquire what the process is and to put forth the motion that the US congress should begin to discuss whether or not to impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney, as well as hold the Secretary of Defense and others accountable for crimes that include breaking US Laws prohibiting torture.

I believe that the following weeks will provide opportune moments to begin the national discussion concerning whether or not the President and the Vice President should or can be impeached.

It is time for Democrats to find a spine and speak what is on many voters minds but has yet to be spoken. Like Congressmen Murtha, we need Democrats to get out in front and act as cathartic agents for a renewal of positive change in this country. You know far better than most of your constituents how dangerously close we are to becoming something less than a free society in this country.

Of course we'll hear the rightwing and all their powerful media spokespersons howl that Democrats are unpatriotic and cowards and opportunistic - what's new?- and that this is not the time for such talk as we are "at war." But with almost 30% of REPUBLICANS saying that Bush should be impeached "if" he lied to the nation and needlessly caused the current strategic and financial catastrophe, I believe you'll find yourself and your democratic colleagues with massive popular support.

Where are the democrats?

Where are you?

The time is right to make headlines and give the nation something to celebrate over the coming holidays. We need the impeachment discussion to officially begin today!
