Reservoir Dogs live on stage
Reservoir Dogs live on stage
Quentin Tarantino's extraordinary first film has become a staple on the Roadhouse Theatre stage over the last ten years. It was 1996 when Scott and Kim McClelland first received permission from Tarantino to create a stage adaptation. The 2006 production will be the fourth mounting of the fabled bloodbath, featuring the ever embattled Mr. White, Mr. Pink, Mr. Blonde and Mr. Orange. Guns blazing, severed ears, black suits and multi-layered expletives are all part of the Reservoir Dogs experience. Not to mention the non linear story line and the "Super Sounds of the Seventies" super soundtrack.
This is a show for "guy type guys". The type of guy who says they never go to the theatre or don't like plays. This is the one where tough talking men walk out of the theatre saying; "honey, let go see that again and this time let's take my brother and his wife". It's also a magnet for college students who have a healthy obsession with all things Tarantino. "It's not uncommon for us to see students catching as many as five or seven performances of this show" says Roadhouse Box Office Manager Alex Bolla. "And each time they come back with more friends in tow".
The Roadhouse has created a popular CD of music from the show and T-shirts from past productions are collector's items. The cast has changed very little over the years, primarily because it is such a blast to be in this show. Rick DiBello, Aaron Pacy, Mark Gardener, Mike Lechner and John Biggie return once again as Messrs. White, Blonde, Pink, Orange and Blue. Newcomers include Bryan Lechner (Mr. Brown), Scott Frasina (tortured cop Marvin Nash), Chris Bucci (Nice Guy Eddie) and Doug Massey (Detective Holdaway). Director Scott McClelland fills in for Flo Fabrizio this time out as mob boss Joe Cabot.
Tickets remain ever affordable at the Roadhouse, $10 regular, $12 riser and $15 VIP. Students with ID can see the show for just $5! Performances are Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM March 24th – May 6th. Reservations are a must for this show and can be made by phone at 814.456.5656 or in person at the Theatre Box Office 145 West 11th Street. Box Office hours are 2-6 PM Tuesday – Saturday. The Theatre accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
