2008 MIC. COUNCIL SIGN-UPS

Beginning September 1st at 8 A.M.
Closing Tuesday, September 9th at 4:30 P.M.

Sign Up at the Council Chambers

In accordance with our Constitution Only Resident Members of the Community above the age of 21, not in arrears for non-payment of taxes, fines or fees for a tract of land shall be eligible for Election to any office or the Council.

Per new election ordinance at the time of sign up all candidates must provide proof of a background check that they have not been convicted of a felony and all debts owed MIC & its entities are current.

A background check may be obtained from the Alaska State Troopers office located across from Old Ktn Pulp Mill site or from the 3 floor of the State Building; must provide the State Troopers 2 pieces of ID; fee is $20. If you have any questions for the Troopers the number is 225-5118.

There will be a Primary election if there are thirteen or more signing up for Council positions. Should there be a Primary Election, it will be the first Tuesday after the first Monday in October. (October 7, 2008)

If there are twelve or less Council Candidates, there shall be no Primary Election and the General Election will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

The successful candidates will occupy their positions the first Monday in January, unless we have a Secretarial Election to change it to December 1 St

Sandra S. Wilson
