Subject: "Disaboom" a new webside

Colleagues,



There is an ambitious new enterprise underway that I wanted to bring to your attention. It is called "Disaboom," and will be an all-encompassing web site for people with disabilities. Disaboom is actively seeking 1000's of people to be beta testers in order to provide ideas for what they would like to see provided on this site. Attached is a suggested pitch for your newsletters to prompt people to go to www.disaboom.com/ltmd and sign up to provide input. Everyone who signs up will receive a free video download.



For more details and background on the people behind this effort, see www.disaboom.com/ltmd. This group raised almost $3 million to start and is founded by Dr. Glen House, a quadriplegic, who completed medical school after sustaining a skiing accident. Dr. House is currently the medical director for Penrose Hospital ’s Neuro and Trauma Rehabilitation Department. I've had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. House and his associates several times. On their web site, scroll down to the very bottom left and click on "about" to read press releases, newspaper articles, and bio's of some of their key people.



We are now working closely with this group, and they have asked our DBTAC to provide the ADA information for their site and links for more ADA resources. Rest assured, we will present the DBTAC Network as a "go-to" resource. Disaboom will have a major focus on employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
