Former Coventry player Elisi Vunipola has been arrested as an illegal immigrant.

The reason are well covered on the Sedgley Park site at www.sprufc.com and on the New Brighton site at www.newbrightonrugby.co.u...vunipola02

A very interesting scenario and as Simon Tushingham, the webmaster of the Sedgley Park site as said, the eventual decision/conclusion could have a wide impact on next season at NL2 level and below.

My own view is that the RFU will pontificate for a couple more weeks and the season will have started by then and nothing will happen to change the current league positions as they stand at this moment.

The one interesting remark on the NB site is how did EV survive as an amateur who didn't have a house or job.

We know that the game is now professional (in terms of payment) at levels down the ladder and that there are probably hundreds of other foreign players playing the game on the same amateur status who are nothing of the sort. If the RFU ever decided to investigate it would open up an hornets nest.
