Last Saturday's clatter of tries prompted me to check on a few stats (oh dear, I'll have to watch myself or I'll end up like that geezer on the Wussies board).
Anyway, I was curious as to who had scored most tries now after Ally's hat-trick, and according to Sportsstatsonline, HE has....Ally has 10, Kurt 9, Simon Martin 9 and Jules 7.
However, the thing that caught my eye was more WHEN they were scored....
Of Ally's 10, NINE came in the second half, Kurt and Simon both bagged 5 in the second 40, and Jules got six of his seven in the second period. That's a total of 25 in the second half and 10 in the first.
In fact as a whole team the total is 34 in the 1st and 39 in the second with 27 of those coming in the last quarter!
Is it something in the half-time tea? Any theories??

Overall it seems that 1001 tries have been scored in the First Division so far this season, with Wuss, Roth, Orrell, Exe and Welsh leading the way (then Cov on 73). Sounds more entertaining than it actually has been ;)

Just thought I'd share that with you...

Simplest explanation is that the last 20 minutes is more usually at least 27 minutes with stoppages added on. Couple that with tired legs and substitutions and there's ample time to whack in a few extra tries.
