As I see it, the FIRST version of Christianity, the one by Jesus, means that there is one or more communities, all part of the "Kingdom of God", whose members at all times OBEY God. They shared their possessions, had no money as individuals (they didn't need any) and therefore were called "The Poor" by outsiders. See Acts 2:44-47 and Acts 4:32-37 for a partial description.
..... I am again reminded of the late Dean of St. Paul's, William Ralph Inge (1860-1954) who wrote and/or said that the devil changes the contents of bottles but not their labels.
..... After the Romans had crucified Jesus many changes were made to Christianity, many new, unauthorized denominations/versions were invented, ancient mythology was added, also bits and pieces of other religions such as Mithraism, but the label was retained.
