Last night, instead of sleeping, instead of staying awake, I went surfing. Strange.

I find myself aware of letting go of all thought and focusing only on my body sensations. And when I do this well I am surfing along the present moment. It is as though I really get here, HERE! but can't sustain it for very long and it feels like I ride the present moment along for just a few seconds and then get off, back into time.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a dream because finally letting go of thoughts started becoming an obsession and so I got up and meditated for awhile.

About 7 am I did finally fall asleep, soundly, and dreampt of gaps and corpses and trips to Seattle. Which is also interesting since I am taking a trip to Seattle next Wednesday. In my dream a professor needed to drive to Seattle for a conference but someone somehow had determined that there would be a gap in time on his way there. It wasn't necessarily that he wouldn't make it there, just that he wouldn't make it there in the same reality. He decided he'd better ride with someone else, sleeping in the back seat of their car on the way.
