WELL. What to say. Maybe this: Consciousness can be so trusted to carry the day. Whatever stuff arises, whatever labelling our mind puts on it, whatever emotions arise because of the labelling, whatever story arises, whatever governing sentimentalities that story includes. Consciousness embraces, becomes, and eventually transmutes it all. Wheew! Such a thing!

The formula you quote above seems SO apt to me. It IS the resistance we have that causes the suffering. And not only our resistance to the pain itself, but ALSO our resistance to LETTING GO OF THE PAIN. For often it serves us in many ways ("Oh poor me", or "I am so special" for example). These governing sentimentalities need to be made conscious MOST OF ALL for they are often what is holding the pain in place and bringing it back AGAIN and AGAIN and OH NO NOT AGAIN! At least that's my take on it. Today.

But what is REALLY interesting to me and what I would LOVE to talk more with you about is the MIND. The few experiences I have had where it has gone and disappeared have been ASTOUNDING to me. No one else seems to quite get it until or unless they've been there themselves. THAT is why this conversation with you is so valuable to me. You HAVE, You ARE.

I find it so interesting your comments on the way stuff comes up for you without the story. It seems to me like the mind and its stories and its conclusions and considerations around the stories are what fucks us up so badly. The mind is full of resistances in the form of judgments, vows, self-critical statements and god knows what else. Take those away and VOILA! a nother whole universe in my experience. I think I said this before, but here goes anyway: When my head cleared of all thoughts I naturally gravitated into an incredible well being. I almost BOUNCED into it. Since then I have become rather suspicious and much more discerning around the function of the mind. It was such an AHA experience.
