It seems to me that the longer we hold ourselves with compassion in those depths that are so difficult to feel, the more the rawness and vulnerability of these places seem to heal.

Whereas only a few days ago my chest ached and hurt as though it had been blown away by a gunshot, today it feels quite different. The wound is still there, the pain and the endless agony can still be felt, but now there is a softer quality to it all. It feels as though a new layer of skin were growing there. Today I no longer bleed. How amazing this Consciousness is. How healing the love that it extends. I do believe that Consciousness alone makes all the difference.
