4-book poet Dan Masterson has entered his fourth year of commenting on single poems sent to him by advanced writers interested in his free comments. prdan@optonline.net

Before sending him work, Masterson suggests writers visit his website for advanced writers (http://www.poetrymaster.com) He also recommends that they take a look at the kind of poetry he writes and has had published. The complete texts of his first two books are displayed on The Contemporary American Poetry Archives (http://caoa.conncoll.edu)

Advanced writers interested in working with Masterson on other poems may discuss the matter with the poet after the first poem has been read, commented on, and returned. There is a fee for that extended service: $39.95 for three poems and their subsequent single revisions, as well as the names of three editors Masterson believes would be most likely to approve of the revised work.

Professor Masterson has directed the Poetry Writing Workshops at The State University of New York--at Suffern--for 38 years, and he has been affiliated with Manhattanville College--in a similar capacity--for 18 years.

He has published in most of the major journals and magazines, including The New Yorker, Esquire, The London Magazine, The Paris Review, Ploughshares, The New York Quarterly, The Gettysburg Review, The Georgia Review, The Sewanee Review, The Hudson Review, Shenandoah, and The Yale Review. His awards include two Pushcart Prizes, as well as the Bullis and CCLM Poetry Prizes. His work appears in many anthologies.
