Well, Hoser...you did sum it up perfectly. Where as Big Shark, Sunset...teams are, for the most part, "racing teams", Dogfish was not founded on the same principle. It was founded on the sole purpose of being a "bicycle fun club" for ANYONE AND EVERYONE to join, meet new people to ride with and help to promote the sport! It was founded for the people that did not want to be on an "elitist" team who snub there noses at everyone else. Until recently, the main focus was NOT racing, but riding!!

As more and more people join, so have more and more team members turned to racing and made it there focus! You are ABSOLUTELY right when you say that we are made up of a shit load of weekend warriors with a handfull of FAST racers. If you want to make fun of the team as a whole for that then so be it and F-OFF, we don't want dickheads like that on our team.

But now, we DO have a handful of VERY fast guys. Check the results page and i am willing to bet that there is at least one ABOVE YOUR NAME! I to see SEVERAL Sunset, Big Shark, StLCC, etc racers NO WHERE NEAR THE TOP! Do you hear us laughing at the LOSERS who are on a RACE ONLY team that can't perform? HELL NO!

I have NO IDEA who anyone on this board is, and while i may not be on the podium everytime or even at all, I can gauran-fucking-tee you that I am training and racing and taking it just as seriously as any of you bitches here.

I too think Merli's "National" expectations are pretty damn far fetched and there needs to be some organization to seperate the "riding" team from the "racing" team. Not so much becuase any of us racers are embarassed, but so that we serious racers can get organized amongst ourselves to form a more well knit and organized effort.

What is really funny is that the Dogfish team, racers and weekend warriors alike, make fun of all you corn holers because you are too fucking close minded, arrogant, and full or yourselves to really see what the team is about. You poke fun of the principle by which the team was formed.

You honestly think that this sport would be ANYWHERE near where it is today if it was not for the "weekend warriors" and team like Dogfish? If so then you really are the fools of the St. Louis biking community!!!
