As someone who is "old school", I must say that Chubb has deffinately changed in past years...A LOT!

Remember back in the day when you went there on a Sunday afternoon because you knew that, no matter how crowded Castlewood was, "the mortals" would always stay away from there. Back then, you could also go to Castlewood, and when the river trails were like a freaking shopping mall, you could go up onto Grotpeter and no see a soul up there, other than a hiker or two.

Also Chubb has become WAY less techincal than in the past. There are several sections that have been "Barnized".

If the Freds want to come out and ride Chubb or where ever, thats cool. They pay taxes just like me. But I feel zero obligation to try to get more of these jokers out there. MTBing in STL isnt going to fade away just because we are not encouraging more and more out of control riders to skid around and cut trails out there.

Ah...I do miss the old days.
