Subject: searching my dads early life 1932 to 1937?

I am trying to find information/friends/photo's relating to my father who after an unknown amount of time at Formidable joined the band of the 12th Royal Lancers. I am interested to hear from anyone who can help with information on how/where to search for records relating to his time in Formidable. I think some of his friends where Ted Stevens, "Skidgee" Hobden, ? Meade. He was joined up to the army by "bandmaster Roberts" who was visiting the school. Any help would be muchly appreciated.
