Subject: One Mormon's Testimony

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church). I happened upon this site through a google search and was impressed by the accuracy of the research and references made here. I'm always relieved to find Christians like myself who actually study the history and doctrines of what they profess to believe.

The reason I'm posting this is not to criticize or complain about any negative slant my personal beliefs may receive on this site, but rather to encourage the readers to study the information from all angles and pray for guidance before rushing to any conclusions. This site is a great reference, as well as the church's official site at http://www.mormon.org. All of the standard works--scriptures, including The Book of Mormon--are available for study for free online at http://scriptures.lds.org.

Christianity is the one true gospel, but as different religions teach divergent doctrines, the opinions or even exhaustive study and schooling on the subject by a mortal is limited. Only through personal revelation, which comes through sincere study and prayer, can a person find an assurance of what is true.

I have received a witness for myself that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church. I invite you to read The Book of Mormon and find out for yourself. It contains this promise that I know from my own experience to be true: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." (Moroni 10: 4-5)
