In response to your reasoning as to why Harry Potter should be acceptable; I have heard this rationalization many times. You are saying it's fantasy and therefore not wrong. Well, just think about it. Do people go around saying that fantasy about fornication is okay because after all, you aren't really doing it? No, even the Bible says to look after a woman and lust after her, that you have already committed adultery in your heart. Well, to fantasize about spells in a book means you are doing them in your heart anyway. No, Harry Potter is not okay and anyone who claims to be a Christian and thinks it is okay is a compromiser.
