I was checking on your subculture page since i noticed death metal and black metal were added to the list but i did not see much on them. I was wondering if you were going to add a section on them, Since i listen to both forms of metal. Do you really think they count as subcultures? Certainly some of the earlier blackmetal bands lived the life they preached which is scarry. And while many death and black metal bands have anti christian lyrics i think a lot of this comes simply because it is the image that has been painted by earlier black or death metal bands and thus the few db or dm bands that are known today just use the lyrics mostly as a show and probably because it is what the fans expect. That is why cannibal corpse have continued to sing about blood death and guts for 15 years. Some distrubed fans will claim they committed haneous crimes because of music but i think that is just copout bs. Even though the hardcore forums of metal do attract certain types of people i don't really think their is a subculture that is created by either dm or bm. Besdies loving how metal sounds i chose metal because i find metal to be a release. Besdies the rebellious aspect of metal i think metal typically attracts youngins because it makes them feel like some one understands what they are going through (although i only think that this mostly applies for numetal and more comercialized forums of metal fall under this category). Most people that i know who listen to dm or bm got into it progerssively as i did by wanting more and more heavier bands. Most people could not just jump in and start loving dm or probably bm for that case, espically when most all dm sounds the same at first. Although thank god for lyrics being in the little booklets you get when you buy cds or no one could understand what deathmetal bands were saying lol.
