Buddhists meditate to gain better understandings and thoughtfulness on the life which, to me sounds better than to meditate on an afterlife that doesn't exist. You could even argue that jesus drove people away from buddhism, but only self-centered people who believe that they are the only right ones would be rude enough to make such a ridiculous comment. Buddhists are also extremely proud of everything, including their religion. I think that you would find very few buddhists who dont have the courage to practice their religion but since you have probably never met more then a few Buddhists, if any, and probably have never traveled to India or Japan where the religion is common, you wouldn't know and just assumed that. And also, is there something wrong with changing your religion to suit you, or should everyone just follow a religion not believing it. If everyone did that we would live in a world where people are simple-minded and still polytheistic. I think that next time you should use your brain and think before you say such stupid things.
