Subject: To Be A Human

Is to stand there just breathing as wind caresses,
Embracing gently around that inside and out of you.
Invisible friend most of time except when touching leaves,
Sadly becoming unwilling enemy when smog darkens its purity.

First memory was lying there helpless yet feeling secure,
Crying for first time while not knowing it wasn't last.
Don't remember that happening but was told and believe,
For it was that beginning which stays with you forever.

To be mortal is to feel all pain and hate along with love,
No matter how you mix them love always comes out on top.
Then you remember that first love so unlike any other,
An introduction which sets stage for an eternal love.

Not to be a human is to lower one's self below animals,
Killing any and all living creatures without survival's law.
This reality is all that seperates us from true remorse,
For we've all witnessed those who do not know its name.
