Subject: It's Times Like This

I fly across rooms with no walls,
Windowless thoughts reaching as far as I let them.
Roofs above my head being last thing on this man's mind,
Too busy soaring freely into that infinite blue.

I wander through high speed dreams with reckless abandon,
Stopping sometimes to think yet not always to obey.
This maverick brain just refuses to respect all given rules,
Willingly imprisoned by such silliness making no sense.

So they'll just have to watch this untamed free spirit fly,
To places I've never been and where they really wish to go.
I go there not because I have to and truly only because,
My words only belonging to me and shared with others.

This life sentence I've granted my gray matter accepts now.
Writing in valleys of thought wild horses would be proud of,
I know they've whispered to me many times and I to them.
Running to those limits of my imagination so true to me.
