Subject: What Is A Poem?

A poem to me is the essence of any thought,
Being built from its foundation into tower scraping sky.
It can fly like no other bird to places never seen,
Even spaceships can only dream of taking its place.

So this poet dares to think of things which may not exist,
If none else has and they don't then haven't I created them?
Giving credit to my mind for their actual development,
Because naturally without it I am merely a flesh mannequin.
