Steve, you are kidding right? Everyone at all the other forums I posted this piece, it seemed to be grasped quite clearly by all who commented, or at least they didn't admit they didn't understand it, in fact they gave it great reviews! I even received a "Must Read" Award at a very prestigious site, and 10 Meadow Merit's at Joyce's site! Yet, you know what, because you are the only one who has admitted you are stumped by this poem, this friend and poet admires that, because I am pretty sure most of the others either didn't interpret it properly or the words meant something entirely different, because you are so honest I will explain only to you my friend what this poem is truly saying through my personal thoughts. Here goes:

Tune-Up In Mind Garage

I've laughed at nothing,
(meaning:) amused for no particular reason

Smiled without eyes.
(meaning:) my mind grinned without eyes help

Seen more with two lids closed,
(meaning:) again, my mind didn't need eyes help

Knowing to be blind wakens mind.
(meaning:) mind is not cluttered by outside visions


Have loved things that others spit upon,
(meaning:) American Flag

Of course saliva doesn't dry on lips that lie.
(meaning:) Sadaam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and all terrorists

Drooling evil thoughts are never ending,
(meaning:) Sadaam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and all terrorists

Watering those thirsty roots of violence.
(meaning:) Sadaam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and all terrorists

Will I die just because they think it?
(meaning:) They would like like that wouldn't they?

If their wishes could come true I might.
(meaning:) They do wish all Americans to die

To thrive on hatred must be an empty meal,
(meaning:) Is this why they (terrorists) appear so thin?

Satisfaction less filling than bread and water.
(meaning:) Fulfillment through cowardly murders is an empty cup

I've lived more centuries in my brain than most,
(meaning:) I think this one explains itself

Spending all their time so desperate to stay young.
(meaning:) Living within one brief mortality while ignoring forever

Fountain of youth is actually found between the ears,
(meaning:) essence of mind will live eternally

Within a throbbing mind that is the heart of each spirit.
(meaning:) Just one more way to describe the above
