Subject: Sounds Of Broken Hearts

Shouting loudest when one walks out quietly on another,
Others just dying while leaving others beating for nothing.
Still that silence blares a scream one will never forget,
Listening to the thumping of your own without that other.

That flow of red life coursing through temporary channels,
Returning always and faithfully to that center of our love.
I ask you have you ever tried to break a rubber ball?
Wouldn't it be nice if hearts could bounce back like that?

They try to and sometimes they do yet most times they don't,
More delicate than finest piece of china ever created.
To break one is akin to turning off another's life support,
Last gasps heard while ignoring that song from one's spirit.

So many hearing so many screeching brakes on highway love,
Difference in avoiding collisions is to never truly meet.
Is it not better to chance a few broken bone promises,
Than to watch a heart slowly deflate and fly away forever?
