Sure man - I'll talk about music more than politics, but nobody else usually wants to! Primus rocks - but I sort of lost touch with them a few years ago. No good reason for that, just stopped listening. Just reading your post I was motivated to put on "...Seas of Cheese." I'm not keen on the Blue Man Group personally, but I understand their Vegas show is supposed to be hella cool. As for me - check out http://www.nagodadesign.com/robdog/music.htm for a longer more desriptive list of my recent musical faves, but here's a short one:
Pink Floyd/Roger Waters - Simply the best ever. Waters' third solo album "Amused To Death" is played at least once a week in this house - generally while I laze around on the porch, drink beer, and read about the political and economic ramifications of a successful European Union.
Adam Evil & The Outside Royalty/The Science Fiction Idols - Sweet-ass local Pittsburgh music.
Anything involving Mike Patton - Faith No More, Tomohawk, "Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By," Mr. Bungle, etc. - the man is a damn genius.
Buju Banton - Reggae's finest (living). Plenty of other reggae on rotation too: Beenie Man, Sizzla, Capleton, Luciano, Barrington Levy, Tosh and Marley, Elephant Man, Pato Banton, and on and on and on . . .
Pantera/Acid Bath/Sepultura/Soulfly - loud fast and uncompromisingly hard.
Joao Gilberto - Brazilians help me relax (except Cavalera - he helps me not relax). I had to build a new computer last night and it's "Corcovado" that kept me from treating my ill-fitting motherboard like a liberal in a dark alley.
Local stuff - I've been doing a lot of searching for local talent from all over the country. Coming from Tucson who had a pretty good local scene to Pittsburgh which has an amazing local scene I think I may have been a bit spoiled but there's some really good unsigned acts out there.
Punk - but not the crappy crap they have a lot of these days. Hate to tell all you little "Hot Topic" shoppers out there, but Blink 182 is not punk - not even close. Give me the good stuff: Total Chaos, Lars Frederickson and The Bastards, Bad Religion, Tiger Army, Black Flag, The Descendants, Pennywise, Rancid, etc..
Man - I'll go on all day - I can't live without music. 24/7 I'm listening or playing!
