Excellent Point Rob.. I agree that manufacturing is not going to "save" our economy. I think that you are absolutely right about the need for new ideas about how to bolster our economy. I think that, like a good stock portfolio, diversification is the key to any economic venture our government can take.

I guess I have a bit more centrist view on the subject, however. The Economy is going to do what it will. It's going to be best that our government continues to work toward's stimulating the economy by whatever means seem to fit the situation. Whether it be through trickle down economics, or putting money directly into the hands of the American people. More and more as time goes on, our economy is going to reflect trends in the global economy. The days of "American" companies are coming to an end. Corporations have become multinational entities and are going to have the greatest impact on our economy over the next few decades through their own business practices.
