You said, "Reagan was a great president and will be remembered as a great president because he did what he said he was going to do despite opposition which is exactly what Bush is up there doing right now."

And you said, "They were voted into office because they said they were going to do certain things and then they did those things and they were hated for it!"

It seems to me that greatness does not hinge on mere follow through. One must concede/prove that the plan being followed (these "certain things") is great in order for the following of the plan to be great.

If your argument were to convince me in theory or in fact, your message would have been clearer if you had added something to the effect that "THE THINGS THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO AND THAT THEY DID ACCOMPLISH DESPITE OPPOSITION WERE GREAT THINGS." And then itemize the GREAT THINGS that were foretold and thereafter accomplished. (i.e., how and why were they GREAT THINGS?) If, indeed, that is what you meant.

Itchy Scratchy 911 -- I am not picking at the validity of your argument, just trying to follow the logic behind it. I haven't been around here long enough to delve into the merits of any of the arguments -- I am still working on sructure. That thought and passion went into your posts is readily apparent. I am just trying to ensure I understand your points before I factor them into/out of my fermenting opinions.

(Ignore me and I promise I will go away.)
