Well, since it is training, I won't be able to bring any of my own firearms. I'll be able to get off base on the weekends towards the end of training (late November and on).

If so, I'd prefer rifle and smaller caliber (.223, .243 something in that area). It has been a while since I've fired anything with a real kick and I'm sured I'd flinch in anticipation until I put a few rounds through it...
