The Nazis were a legitimate political party, so establishing financial ties with them before the holocaust wasn't a real big deal. It's not really the same has having financial ties with Bin Laden. The problem is that Prescott Bush's company and some others he was involved with continued their financial ties after the reality of the Nazi party became apparent. Those assets were eventually seized by the government and the ties severed on an "aid and comfort" clause or somesuch.
