In reply to: DammitBoy! 's message, "I had a great Easter weekend, how 'bout you?......." on 18:50:50 04/20/03 Sun

We stayed at home, did the family thing in our new house. Some neighbors dropped by with their daughter. Went to church in the AM and hurried home to finish cooking (everyone brought something). It was a good day. We finished the evening doing yard work. The wife mowed the lawn while I planted various trees and bushes. I also put in most of the garden (with so much yard we decided to grow a garden). Tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, peppers, cantaloupe, watermelon (don't tell Noah). I've got a few more things to put in before I'm done.

How was the water? I took the family down to Tybee Island about three weekends ago (Savannah). We didn't bring our suits because we figured the water would be too cold. The boys went in anyway and didn't want to get out. I waded about a bit, but it was just too cold for me. I'm hoping the weather will hold so I can take the boat out soon. We've had a drought here in Georgia for the last three years. Conditions were terrible at the local lake/reservoir (Clark Hill/Lake Thurmond). This year though we've had water out the whazoo and the lake is finally full again. It's going to be a fine summer. We just had the Masters week before last. Unfortunately we couldn't rent our house out. With the move we got a late start listing the house and beside corporations weren't coming to town like they usually do (the Martha Burke mess, and the slouching economy hurt prospects). Business wise Master's week was a success though. I wish it was like that all year long.

It was a pretty good Easter. And I didn’t have to pay Uncle Sam any more taxes (got a refund actually)!
