No, my dad is definitely not a friend, and other than the biological aspects of it, not really a dad.

No, ignorance is the reason. He thinks he knows everything. Back in 1996 he told me that the PATRIOT missile system was about to be phased out. Funny since I was a PATRIOT system operator... When I told him it wasn't, he argued with me that he 'knew' these things...

Just like his 4 years of service in the AF back in the 50's makes him an expert on the AF today (like him telling me I wouldn't be selected for OTS and such).
