Tone says he had separated ammo from gun in all but his handgun. And in the situation you described tone would be more irresponsible letting his kid get that way. Seriously take the gun out and you still have a kid would really wants to kill someone and is intending to do it. Not having a gun wouldn't worry a kid like that, stuff like hand size rocks, pick forks, kitchen knifes, hand axes, lead pipes, a large stick, his fists and etc would be far easier and faster to obtain.
